I have been reading a book about the Sumerians by an American Assyriologist named Kramer who is a top authority on the subject of Sumerian civilization. The Sumerians called themselves the “black-heads.” The race of the Sumerians is not known, according to Kramer, however it is known that they were not Semitic.
